Global Green Initiative
 In China, we have just completed our internal carbon emission assessment for the calendar year 2007, and have set a goal to reduce our carbon footprint by 25 percent by 2010 from our 2007 levels. Over the next two years, we will explore, develop and implement green strategies to reduce emissions across all KPMG China offices.
So far, we have reduced energy consumption through environmental tips/educating new joiners, education for staff, replacing paper cups with ceramic mugs, installing double-sided printers and recycling bins, purchasing hybrid company cars, and using LED lights in newly renovated areas. To reduce business travel, we have installed Halo video conferencing facilities in our Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai offices. We also plan to install video conferencing on all partners' and directors' computers by the end of this year.
 To further support this global green initiative, KPMG International will select one employee from the US firm and one from the China firm to join renowned polar explorer, Robert Swan, on his expedition to Antarctica from 14-27 March 2009. These two ambassadors will see at first-hand the impact of climate change on Antarctica's fragile ecosystems and wildlife and then share their experiences with us. We are also a supporter of the "Earth Hour 2009" organised by WWF, which is a global campaign calling for climate change solutions and a commitment to combating global warming. As a corporate participant, all lights in our office buildings in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong will be turned off from 8:30 to 9:30 pm on Saturday, 28 March, 2009.
