Enterprise Internal Control Seminar
In recent years, many medium- to large-scale domestic and international enterprises, including a number of world-renowned firms, have declared bankruptcy or been plagued by scandals. Staying afloat in business has become a hot topic. In light of the promulgation of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act by the United States in July 2002, many countries in Europe, Japan and Australia have revised their legal requirements on the internal control of listed companies' financial statements.
The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges have also issued a number of requirements regarding the internal control of listed companies' financial statements. On 28 June 2008, China's Ministry of Finance, the National Audit Office, the CSRC, the China Banking Regulatory Commission, and the China Insurance Regulatory Commission jointly issued Basic Standards for Enterprise Internal Control, which will come into effect for all public companies on 1 July 2009. Non-listed medium to large enterprises are also being encouraged to adopt these standards.
In this seminar, our senior professionals will interpret Basic Standards for Enterprise Internal Control and explore the challenges and opportunities faced by domestic companies. Our speakers will also share their previous experience in observing the internal control guidelines issued by the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges, and discuss ways for enterprises to abide by these standards.
