Day 14, March 27, Friday, Ushuaia, Clear

We arrived back in Ushuaia around 6am. The small town of Ushuaia seemed to be a metropolis compared to the scenery of the past two weeks. As we drove through town and saw the glacier retreating to the very top of the mountain and the houses on the foothills of the mountain, I couldn't help but wish this wouldn't be the scene in Antarctica in the future.

As I start my 30+ hour return trip to Shanghai, emitting tons of CO2 in the stratosphere, many thoughts are bouncing in my head. The first thing I will do, of course, is to personally offset my CO2 footprint for this trip by, most likely, buying carbon credits. I will then do my best to execute the plans we devised during the expedition. As Robert said, it's time to go beyond awareness and actually do something.
